Azerbaijan to Triple Road Tax on Fuel Starting in 2026

Must read

Azerbaijan plans a sharp increase in its road tax on fuel starting next year, according to draft amendments to the Tax Code submitted to the Milli Majlis (Parliament).

Under the proposal, the road tax levied on automotive gasoline, diesel, and liquefied gas will rise from 2 gapiks to 7 gapiks per liter – a 3.5-fold increase.

The government said a designated executive authority will determine how the collected road tax revenues will be distributed within the state budget and what infrastructure projects they will fund.
