AZAL to Raise Baku-Tel Aviv Flights to 21 Weekly in 2026

Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) plans to increase the number of weekly flights between Baku and Tel Aviv from 14 to 21 starting in May 2026, the airline’s president Samir Rzayev announced on social media.

Rzayev shared the update following his meeting with Israel’s newly appointed ambassador to Azerbaijan, Ronen Kraus.

“We discussed the development of bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Israel, particularly in the aviation sector,” he said. “Both sides emphasized the importance of joint initiatives and new partnership projects.”

According to Rzayev, air travel between the two countries has shown steady growth in recent years.

“In line with this trend, AZAL intends to expand flight frequency to further strengthen air connectivity and passenger exchange between Azerbaijan and Israel,” he noted.

From January to October 2025 alone, AZAL operated 562 Baku–Tel Aviv flights, carrying more than 147,000 passengers. The planned increase is expected to mark a new phase in deepening transport and tourism ties between the two nations.
