Azerbaijan’s Qarabağ FK and Chelsea FC played out a thrilling 2–2 draw at the Tofiq Bahramov Republican Stadium in Baku in the fourth round of the UEFA Champions League group stage.
Chelsea took the lead in the 16th minute through forward Estevão, but Qarabağ quickly responded when Leandro Andrade leveled the score in the 29th minute.
The home side then surged ahead as Marko Janković converted a penalty in the 39th minute, putting the Azerbaijani champions 2–1 up before halftime. Chelsea’s Alejandro Garnacho equalized early in the second half, scoring in the 53rd minute to secure a point for the visitors.
The result brings Qarabağ’s total to seven points in this season’s Champions League campaign – a strong showing for the Agdam-based club under head coach Gurban Gurbanov.
Qarabağ will next face Napoli away in the fifth round on November 25.
