Wrestlers Dominate Azerbaijan’s October Sports Rankings

The Ministry of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan has published its official ranking of national athletes for October 2025, with Greco-Roman wrestler Ulvi Ganizade taking the top spot.

According to Report, Ganizade leads the standings with 400 points, sharing the same score with fellow Greco-Roman wrestler Khasrat Jafarov and freestyle wrestler Giorgi Meshvildishvili, who ranked second and third, respectively, based on tie-breaking criteria.

Olympic judo champion Zelim Kotsoev occupies fourth place with 350 points, while freestyle wrestler Osman Nurmagomedov rounds out the top five with 340 points.

  • Zelim Tskaev (judo) – 330 points

  • Eldaniz Azizli (Greco-Roman wrestling) – 320 points

  • Eljan Hajiyev (judo) – 310 points

  • Murad Ahmadiev (Greco-Roman wrestling) – 250 points

  • Arseni Djioev (freestyle wrestling) – 250 points

The rankings reflect the continued dominance of Azerbaijani wrestlers and judokas on the national stage, as they maintain strong performances across international competitions.
