Armenia is open to discussing potential areas of cooperation with Russia under the “Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity” (TRIPP) initiative, Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said during parliamentary budget hearings in Yerevan.
Responding to lawmakers’ questions on whether coordination with Moscow had taken place within the TRIPP framework, Mirzoyan confirmed that dialogue with Russia is ongoing.
“We have discussed, are discussing, and will continue to discuss new and interesting mechanisms and directions with our Russian partners,” he said, as quoted by TASS.

Mirzoyan clarified that Armenia’s existing railway infrastructure remains under concession management by the South Caucasus Railway, a subsidiary of Russian Railways (RZD).
“What already exists is managed under concession. As for the new transport links – those not yet built – it’s clear they could not have been transferred to the Russian side years ago. We have presented our position on this issue to Moscow,” he explained.
The Armenian foreign minister also confirmed that discussions with Turkey have taken place regarding the possible reopening of the Gyumri–Kars railway line.
“It has been discussed, is being discussed, and I am sure will continue to be discussed,” Mirzoyan said.
The “Trump Route” – formally launched after the August 8 trilateral summit in Washington between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, and U.S. President Donald Trump – aims to establish a new land corridor connecting mainland Azerbaijan with Nakhchivan via southern Armenia.
The joint declaration signed in Washington outlines seven key principles focused on achieving peace and restoring connectivity between Baku and Yerevan. While the text does not specify implementation details, it reaffirms both sides’ commitment to finalize and ratify a comprehensive peace treaty.
