Azerbaijani boxers finished the European U-15 Boxing Championships in Budva, Montenegro, with an impressive eight medals — including two gold, three silver, and three bronze.
Humar Jafarli (75 kg) claimed the gold medal after a dominant 5:0 victory over Turkey’s Yagmur Eryurt (30:27, 30:27, 30:27, 30:27, 30:27). Her triumph marked a historic milestone – the first-ever European U-15 title for an Azerbaijani female boxer.
Mehran Rasulov (80 kg) secured the country’s second gold, defeating Ukraine’s Serhii Kotovskyi by unanimous decision (5:0). It was Rasulov’s third career medal at the European level, following two previous bronze finishes.
Nasrin Abdullazade (40 kg), Nurlan Museibli (66 kg), and Yusif Agakishiev (75 kg) each earned silver medals, while Onur Gurbanov (42 kg), Eljan Musazade (50 kg), and Erdem Tekin (90 kg) took bronze.
The Azerbaijani team ranked sixth overall among 369 athletes from 32 countries, reflecting the nation’s growing strength in youth boxing across Europe.
