Azerbaijan Wins Five Medals at Judo Grand Prix in Mexico

Azerbaijani judokas captured two gold and one bronze medal at the Judo Grand Prix held in Guadalajara, Mexico, Report said.

Hidayat Heydarov (73 kg) claimed the gold medal, defeating Czech athlete Husniddin Karimov in the final bout. Vusal Galandarzade (81 kg) also topped the podium, overcoming Eetu Ihanamäki of Finland in the decisive match.

In the same tournament, Rashid Mammadaliyev (73 kg) earned a bronze medal after beating Justin Lemirezen of Canada in the contest for third place.

Earlier in the competition, Azerbaijani judokas Balabey Agayev (60 kg) and Ruslan Pashayev (66 kg) also took gold medals, while Ahmad Yusifov (60 kg) won bronze, marking another strong performance for Team Azerbaijan on the international stage.
