A cultural evening dedicated to October 18 – the Day of Restoration of Independence of Azerbaijan – was held in the city of Campbell, California, Report.az’s U.S. bureau reported.
The event was organized by the Azerbaijani Cultural Society of Northern California, one of the oldest Azerbaijani community organizations in the United States.
Members of the Azerbaijani diaspora, community activists, and diplomats from Azerbaijan’s Consulate General in California attended the event.
Speakers reflected on the history of Azerbaijan’s independence, the legacy of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, and the country’s continued development and achievements under President Ilham Aliyev.
The Cultural Society of Northern California, which has been active for 43 years, was commended for its contribution to preserving national identity and promoting cultural unity among Azerbaijanis in the United States.
The evening featured a vibrant cultural program: the drumming group Sound of Fire performed dynamic rhythms, while the youth ensemble Neva presented traditional Azerbaijani music. The Azerbaijani Children’s Dance Ensemble also delighted the audience with national dance performances.
At the end of the event, the Cultural Society presented certificates of appreciation to diaspora activists for their dedicated work in strengthening community ties and promoting Azerbaijani culture abroad.
