Aghdam’s Qarabag FK claimed a 2-1 victory over Turan Tovuz in the eighth round of the Azerbaijan Premier League, moving to the top of the standings with 16 points.
The match, held at Azersun Arena in Baku – Qarabag’s home ground – saw Alejandro Serrano put Turan Tovuz ahead from the penalty spot in the 40th minute.
Qarabag responded in the second half with goals from Nariman Akhundzade (55’) and Abdellah Zoubir (63’) to secure the comeback win.

Following the result, Qarabag leads the league with 16 points, while Turan Tovuz sits second with 15.
Earlier in the round, Kapaz Ganja defeated Shamakhi 4-1. The full round results are expected to be finalized on October 19.
