Clarifying the fate of people who went missing during the conflict remains a matter of utmost humanitarian importance, Iranian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mojtaba Demirchili said in remarks to Report during his visit to Zangilan.

The ambassador, who joined participants of a conference dedicated to missing persons, emphasized that families have the right to know what happened to their loved ones.

“It is extremely important to determine the fate of those who went missing. The families of these people deserve to receive clear information about them,” Demirchili said.

He also congratulated the people of Azerbaijan on the restoration of the country’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, calling it a moment of historical justice.

“I take pride in seeing Azerbaijan’s full restoration of territorial integrity. I worked in Baku many years ago. Twenty-seven years ago, when I was in Goygol, I looked toward Karabakh and dreamed of one day visiting those lands. I am very happy that this dream has come true,” the ambassador noted.
