The average monthly nominal salary of hired workers in Azerbaijan reached 1,094 manats between January and August this year, marking a 9.7% increase compared to the same period in 2024, according to the State Statistics Committee.
The highest wages were recorded in sectors such as mining, finance and insurance, information and communication, scientific and technical services, and transport and logistics.
As of September 1, 1.76 million people were employed in the country – 855,300 in the public sector and 909,600 in the private sector.
In terms of structure, 19% of employees worked in trade and vehicle repair, 18% in education, 13.9% in industry, 6.8% in construction, 6.3% in public administration and defense, 4.2% in transport and storage, 3.9% in professional and technical activities, 2.4% in agriculture, 2.3% in finance and insurance, and 14.6% in other fields.
