Azerbaijan’s men’s national chess team scored another strong victory at the European Chess Championship, defeating Poland with a score of 2.5–1.5.

According to Report, the Azerbaijani lineup – Shakhriyar Mamedyarov, Rauf Mamedov, Aydin Suleymanli, Magomed Muradli, and Eltaj Safarli – had previously beaten Slovakia (3–1) and drawn against the Czech Republic (2–2). After three rounds, the team holds third place in the standings with 5 points.

Meanwhile, Azerbaijan’s women’s team drew 2–2 with France. The squad – Ulviya Fatalieva, Govhar Beydullayeva, Khanim Balajayeva, Gulnar Mammadova, and Ayan Allahverdiyeva – had earlier claimed decisive victories over Slovenia (4–0) and Hungary (2.5–1.5). After three rounds, they sit in fourth place, also with 5 points.
