The UNESCO World Conference on Cultural Policies and Sustainable Development (MONDIACULT 2025) is underway in Barcelona from September 29 to October 1, with Azerbaijan represented by a delegation led by Culture Minister Adil Karimli.
According to Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Culture, the official opening ceremony emphasized the importance of the three-day event, outlining its goals and the steps needed to address new global challenges. The ceremony concluded with a concert program.
On September 29, Karimli also spoke at the 3rd High-Level Ministers’ Dialogue of the Group of Friends on Culture-Based Climate Action.
Within the framework of the conference, Karimli held a bilateral meeting with Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Abbas Salehi Shariati.
The two sides exchanged views on expanding Azerbaijan–Iran cultural cooperation, including joint participation in international cultural projects, film production, and other areas of shared interest.
