Azerbaijan Sets Stage for 3rd CIS Games Across Seven Cities

Preparations for the 3rd Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Games have entered the final stage, with sports arenas across Azerbaijan now ready to host competitions.

According to Baku City Circuit, athletes from CIS member states will compete for medals in 23 disciplines across 12 specially equipped venues. Organizers say all necessary measures have been taken to ensure maximum comfort for participating teams, media representatives, and spectators.

Each arena has been outfitted with modern information centers, media hubs, press rooms, and medical stations. Special attention was given to tailoring facilities for each sport, with equipment installed in line with international standards.

The Games, scheduled for September 28 to October 8, will span seven Azerbaijani cities: Ganja, Yevlakh, Mingachevir, Gabala, Sheki, Goygol, and Khankendi. The opening and closing ceremonies will take place at Ganja City Stadium, both beginning at 19:00 local time.

The multi-sport event is expected to showcase Azerbaijan’s organizational capacity and further strengthen regional sporting ties.
