Azerbaijan has sharply increased its spending on vehicle imports this year, allocating $1.74 billion to cars and spare parts between January and August, according to the State Customs Committee.
The figure marks a 17.2 percent jump – or an additional $255.5 million – compared with the same period in 2024. Auto-related imports accounted for 11.5 percent of the country’s total import bill over the eight-month stretch.

Overall, Azerbaijan’s foreign trade turnover reached $32.1 billion, with exports totaling $17.07 billion and imports $15.05 billion.
