Baku, September 19, 2025
Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) has brought a new Airbus A320neo into service as part of its long-term fleet-modernization strategy, the carrier told Report.
The aircraft is expected to boost passenger comfort, improve operating efficiency, and reduce environmental impact.
The A320neo features an upgraded cabin for both business and economy classes, onboard entertainment, and high-speed Wi-Fi—free for business-class travelers and AZAL Miles members with eligible status.
“This modernization is a key pillar of our strategy,” AZAL president Samir Rzayev said. “The A320neo lets us offer higher service standards while making flights more eco-friendly.”
AZAL said the addition will lower unit costs, strengthen its position in regional markets, and reinforce Baku’s role as a hub between Europe and Asia. A second A320neo is due to arrive in early October, and the airline plans to add more than 30 new aircraft by 2032.
