Azerbaijan has resumed exports of AI-92 gasoline after a multi-year pause, with Afghanistan emerging as the top buyer.
According to the State Statistics Committee, the country exported 5,408 tons of AI-92 between January and July 2025, valued at $3.53 million.

The bulk went to Afghanistan – 2,298 tons worth $1.63 million. Turkey followed with 2,017 tons worth $1.1 million, while Georgia imported 1,094 tons worth $804,000.
No AI-92 was exported in 2024. The last recorded shipment was in 2021, when just 45 tons worth $28,000 went to Georgia.
The fuel is produced at the Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery in Baku, which began manufacturing Premium Euro-95 gasoline in mid-2024.
