Azerbaijan significantly increased crude oil exports to Italy in the first eight months of 2025, according to data from the State Customs Committee.
From January to August, Baku shipped 9.2 million tons of crude worth $4.8 billion to Italy. That marks a 47.7 percent rise in volume and a 21.8 percent increase in value compared with the same period last year.

Italy accounted for 57.8 percent of Azerbaijan’s total crude oil exports during this period.
Overall, Azerbaijan exported 15.9 million tons of crude worth $8.4 billion in the first eight months of 2025, customs figures show.
