Benfica Crush Qarabağ U-19 with First-Half Goal Storm

Qarabağ’s U-19 side endured a heavy defeat in their opening UEFA Youth League fixture, falling 7–1 away to Benfica in Lisbon.

The Portuguese hosts dominated from the start, scoring six goals in the first half alone. Francisco Silva, Miguel Figueiredo and Gonçalo Moreira — who netted four times including a penalty — led the rout, with Stevan Manuel adding a seventh after the break.

Azerbaijan’s only consolation came late on through Ali Qazıbeyov in the 85th minute.

The Youth League group stage continues through the autumn, with Qarabağ seeking redemption in their next matches.
