The Azerbaijani capital has officially been chosen as the host city for the 2026 U-17 World Wrestling Championships, the United World Wrestling (UWW) Executive Committee announced.
Baku outbid several international contenders, including Sofia (Bulgaria), Alexandria (Egypt), Amman (Jordan), and Brașov (Romania), Report informs.

The tournament will take place from July 27 to August 2, 2026 at the National Gymnastics Arena, bringing together the world’s best young wrestlers to compete for global titles.
This will mark the second time Baku hosts the U-17 championships — the city previously staged the event in 2012.
