The championships, held this year in Liverpool under the auspices of World Boxing, feature both men’s and women’s competitions. Azerbaijan has entered 11 boxers, with six already eliminated.

In earlier bouts, Nidjat Guseynov (55 kg) defeated Cuba’s Rolando Martinez Perez 4:1, while Murad Allahverdiyev (80 kg) beat Albania’s Amar Kochi 4:1. Zaur Gahramanov (65 kg) fell 0:5 to Brazil’s Yuri Falcao dos Reis.
