Azerbaijan’s national taekwondo team delivered a standout performance at the Swiss Open 2025, winning multiple medals and topping the overall team standings.
Bakhruz Guluzade (54 kg), Javad Agayev (80 kg) and Minaya Akperova (46 kg) all claimed gold after defeating their rivals. Etaj Gafarov (87 kg) secured silver, while Gashim Magomedov (63 kg), Riyad Shiraliyev (68 kg) and Samarukh Osmanova (49 kg) each earned bronze.

Guluzade was named Best Athlete of the Tournament, capping Azerbaijan’s success. The team also finished first in the overall ranking, receiving the championship cup from World Taekwondo President Chungwon Choue.
