The seizure was carried out jointly by the Central Criminal and Patrol Police Department, the Ministry of Finance’s investigative service, and the Customs Department of the Revenue Service. Authorities say the truck crossed from Iran into Azerbaijan before attempting to enter Georgia.

Deputy Interior Minister Aleksandre Darakhvelidze said the case falls under Articles 260 and 262 of Georgia’s criminal code, which carry penalties of up to 20 years in prison or life imprisonment. Investigators are working to identify and charge other individuals suspected of involvement.
